As the April issue goes to press the Coatings World team is making our final preparations for the trip to the American Coatings Show (ACS), which will be held April 7-10 in Atlanta, Georgia. We are excited to attend this biennial event, as it has grown into the most popular paint and coatings event in North America. Held in partnership with the American Coatings Association (ACA) and Vincentz Network – the organizer of the European Coatings Show and Conference – the American Coatings Show and Conference (ACS/ACC) is an exhibition and technical conference designed as a sister event to the European event. The conference is a two-day event providing a forum for the foremost scientific minds in the industry, featuring scientific papers and speakers. The show is a marketplace for presentation of products and services for the production of high-grade and competitive paint and coatings. This issue will be distributed at the ACS and we have worked extra hard to bring our readers the latest news from the paint and coatings front. We have compiled an ACS Exhibitor Guide (page 84) so those that plan on attending can get a head start on their show preparations. The guide features booth numbers and gives a glimpse of what products and service select companies will be highlighting on the show floor. Other informative articles in this issue include Automotive OEM Coatings Market (page 60). Automotive coatings OEM companies I interviewed for the article expressed true optimism for the coming year. They reported economic recovery in North America and Europe, as well as continued growth in Asia Pacific, particularly China. We are also proud to introduce an entirely new feature article, the CEO Forum (page 70). The purpose of this yearly article is to give CEOs of major coatings companies a platform to address the most important issues impacting our industry. This inaugural forum features insights from Ton Büchner of AkzoNobel and Charles Shaver of Axalta Coating Systems.
